Terrie Wright Chrones, (Tlatte@aol.com), spent her childhood as a NATO dependent in Izmir, Turkey. She was a National Endowment for the Humanities recipient for readings in culinary history. She has worked as a textile designer, cartoonist, graphics artist, and caterer. Trained as an artist and educator, she now divides her time teaching about art history, Turkish food, culinary history, and planning the next "culinary research trip" to Turkey. She works to dispel cultural stereotypes by teaching about the cuisine of countries. She is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and the Mid East Outreach council. She lives with her husband and daughter, who try her recipes, in Eugene, Oregon.
