Barbara Ensrud
Barbara (b.ensrud@appellationamerica.com or b_e@bewinewise.com) is a freelance wine journalist and author, formerly based in New York and currently living in Durham, NC . She is a regular contributor to The Wall Street Journal and the author of Best Wine Buys for $12 and Under (Villard Books, 1995), Wine with Food (Simon and Schuster, 1991) and American Vineyards (Stewart Tabori & Chang, 1988), she also served as consultant and contributing editor to Gault Millau Guide to the Best Wines of North America. Her articles on wine and food have appeared in Vogue, House and Garden, Smart Money, Parade, Journal of Gastronomy, Food & Wine, Harper's Bazaar, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Wine Spectator and Decanter.
Barbara is a member of the NY Wine Press and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. A frequent lecturer on the subject of wine, she has taught wine classes at Windows on the World, City University of New York and Academie du Vin, all in New York City, and has served as a judge at leading wine competitions in California, New York and Europe.
