Sharon Tyler Herbst
Sharon Tyler Herbst, (sharonherbst@hotmail.com), America's foremost writer of user-friendly food and drink reference books, is an award-winning author of 13 tomes. Her reputation as an accomplished culinary powerhouse was solidified with the first book in her reference series, Food Lover's Companion, broadly hailed as "A must for every cook's kitchen library." Now in its second edition with sales over a million copies, this book is the culinary dictionary on two major internet sites -- CondÈ-Nast's Epicurious.com and Disney's Family.com. Julia Child praised her Food Lover's Tiptionary as "An invaluable help for all"; her Never Eat More Than You Can Lift has been featured in PEOPLE magazine and on "ABC World News." Sharon's books are often cited on TV's popular quiz show "Jeopardy."
Sharon is also a media personality with regular weekly segments on both radio and television, and appearances on myriad national radio and television shows including "Good Morning America." She’s a consultant and spokesperson for national food and beverage companies including Lipton, Sunbeam, Kraft, General Mills, Old El Paso, Chambord and the California Egg Commission. She’s also a food journalist and researcher with articles in magazines including Food & Wine, Gourmet Retailer, Good Food, Cook's Magazine and Cuisine. Sharon is a past president of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and served on its board for eight years. She lives in the San Francisco Bay area with her husband Ron.
