Cuisine: Beef

Overview: Daily dinner

This eatery is a San Francisco institution, which for a bargain price delivers a hand-cut portion of prime rib with all the fixin's to the masses. Asian families, out-of-towners, lots of men and on occasion the 49ers football team dig into the fat juicy beef here, whether in the form of a prime rib or juicy steak. The warren of richly appointed clubby rooms, most with fireplaces, belies the reasonable prices. Included with each entree are side dishes and salad (watch it being tossed tableside). If that doesn't fill you up, seconds are even offered. Service can be robotic.
