Five Top Family Friendly Restaurants: UK

by Claudia Foleng-Achunche

Some few years ago, there were only a number of child-friendly restaurants in the country. Things have now changed and today, quite a few independent restaurants and chains are actively catering to the family market. I have selected five of my favourite child-friendly restaurants in the UK.

The Blue Kangaroo, London

Blue Kangaroo is designed with children as well as adults in mind. It offers a unique venue providing healthy food and entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere for the whole family.

This central London restaurant has become popular because of its integral downstairs play zone. Parents can choose to eat there or in the restaurant which has a big screen with live link to the play area.

Most importantly, the food is organic, fresh and appealing to kids.

Children can join their parents for a meal in the restaurant or they can run riot in the play zone downstairs whilst being watched on the big screen in the restaurant linked to the play area. This leaves their parents to relax and enjoy a 'quieter' meal.

The Giraffe, London

This restaurant appeals to families as well as to the young and childless.

Kids get balloons, grown-ups get rewarded with well-executed eclectic dishes at this healthy and well organised place to dine. It definitely serves imaginative dishes that reveal international flavours. Its cheerful staff and world music add a welcome touch.

Portions are humungous: Starve yourself before a visit!
